FAQs

How long will the Fertility Boost program take?
The program begins with a Complete Nutrition Assessment (a 60min+ consult) where we will review your anthropometry, existing health conditions, food journal analysis, supplements, and medications. Depending on your preference, the four Review Consults can then be scheduled 1-3 weeks apart, so a typical program takes between between 5-10 weeks to complete depending on your choice of scheduling.
Why is it recommended to start focusing on fertility nutrition a minimum of 3 months before trying to conceive?
The cycle of an egg in preparation for ovulation is ±90 days, and the entire process of spermatogenesis is ±74 days. Both eggs and sperm are sensitive to diet, lifestyle, and exposures during this period so it’s valuable to start focusing on your pre-conception health for 3-6 months before trying to conceive when possible.
I’m interested in more than four topics - how are the four program topics selected?
Topics are selected together following your Complete Nutrition Assessment, based on the information that you’ve shared and which topics are most pertinent to your unique requirements. It’s possible to sign-on for additional Review Consults / topics at the package rate following the first 4 weeks if you are interested in more fertility nutrition education and pre-conception support.
What is the cost of the program?
The Fertility Boost program costs R4500. This includes 1 Complete Nutrition Assessment consult, 4x Review Consults with dietary protocols and related worksheets, a Fertility Meal Plan, access to the Practice Better food journaling tool, and other relevant links and resources related to optimising your pre-conception nutrition.
What software do I need to take part in the program?
All aspects of the program (bookings, payments, scheduling, food journaling, consult calls, protocols, etc.) are done through Practice Better. Practice Better is free for you to download and use, and both a desktop and mobile version are available.
